Polka dots are back and better than ever. Minnie Mouse aesthetic is in full force in stores across the country and we aren't complaining. Adding a fun and vibrant print to the scene is switching up the streets, bringing pops of color and eye-catching statement pieces to every fashionista's wardrobe. Not only have I added pieces of polka to my wardrobe, I've made them the center of my summer style. I've dot it bad over this trend.

DRESS UP
You can never go wrong wearing a polka dot dress. Dresses are one of my favorite parts of summer, because it's such an easy outfit. All you have to do is throw it on with a few pieces of jewelry and walk out the door. Better yet, it's so simple to change your look just by changing your shoes. You can dress up with a pair of sandals or heels, or dress casually with a pair of sneaks. I wore this look both ways in the city. For the dressier version, I dressed it up with white cat-eyed sunnies, gold necklaces, and a pair of daisy statement earrings. For a more casual look, I swapped my gold daisies for a pair of fun cherry earrings and added the dad sneakers. I also wore my hair in pigtails for a more playful look, and then brought on the style with my thin, black 90's frames.

SUIT UP
Power suits are an essential in the modern fashion climate. You can easily turn what was once Hillary Clinton's iconic ensemble into a professional, casual, or even day-to-night look depending on the accessories. For my trip to New York, I decided to go Business Casual Chic. I paired this adorable green satin suit with white Fila dad shoes to bring out the pop of white from the dots. To accessorize, I added my favorite summertime straw satchel and a few pops of gold. I wore thin, 90's styled sunnies from Sunglass.LA with an adorable sunglass chain I found on amazon.

SET UP
My favorite way to get playful with polka dots is to sport a two-piece set. The outfit choice is always bold and guaranteed to turn heads, no matter the environment. This particular set is from Nasty Gal and definitely caught the street's eye. The navy drop-sleeve cropped top features two gold statement buttons to give it a somewhat nautical feel. To give it more of an urban chic vibe, I added white dramatic cat-eyes and my gold name necklace to bring out the buttons from the top. Lastly, I paired it with my dad shoes and a straw bag to make the look ready for summer.

There are endless ways to rock polka dots and these are just a few of my favs. If your wardrobe is usually full of neutrals or solids, I highly suggest trying this trend before it fades back out. Polka dots make your fit feel fun, they come in neutral colors, and you always get compliments on your look. What's your favorite polka dot piece of the summer? Link it in the comments below!
