Winter hit Virginia hard last week. Though Jon is my favorite type of snow, this kind was a nice surprise, too. Harrisonburg was covered in a blanket of white and I was at home covered in a blanket of fur (target's finest, of course). I like to think of snow days as mental health days, especially during finals season. I took this time to try to forget about my schoolwork and breathe, curl up in my fuzzy socks, sip on hot cocoa, and work on a few blogging projects that are coming soon. I also may or may not have binge watched a few of my favorite shows.
Though I could be an olympian couch potato, when one of my friends (@thomas__nguyen) asked to shoot, I forfeited the medal. I couldn't miss the opportunity to caption a picture with, "Winter is coming."
I was so excited to release my fur coats into the wild. I know I wear them all too often, but this was finally the perfect location to make them pop. Of course, being me, I brought along three options for the shoot. I styled them with a simple black turtleneck from Forever 21, a pair of black jeans from H&M, red booties from Forever 21, and a red lip (in the color: Spicy) from Anastasia Beverly Hills.
I snagged all three of these coats from Poshmark. The cheetah print coat is from Nasty Gal, but I bought it for 60% off of the original price and it still had the tags on it. The brown coat is from originally from H&M's collection from last year. The black and white coat was from Topshop. I live and breathe by that website because I get so many quality, lightly-used items for unbelievable prices. If you don't use it (this isn't an ad, I'm just really excited about all of the deals I've gotten), I highly suggest making an account. P.S. If you do, use the code JORDANSHILEY when you sign up to instantly get $5 to spend.
Anyway, enough of my rambling. This blog post is just to focus on the content from this gorgeous shoot. I hope that you all enjoy what we captured as much as I did!
