Hello MTV, Welcome To My Crib

Hey guys! It's been a crazy week getting ready to head back to Harrisonburg.

I've spent the majority of this week moving into my new apartment at school. It's my senior year, so I wanted to live downtown. My boyfriend (of 5 years) and I decided on a studio apartment in Ice House Studios, which is right above a brewery and an adorable little coffee shop. Getting it ready took a couple of trips down, a TON of trips to Tj Maxx, and a few trial and errors with a drill but it is almost complete.

Let's go on a tour, shall we?

The kitchen has an island, a rack for hanging pots and pans, and has plenty of storage. I love how open and minimalistic it is. It leads straight into our "living room" where we will be watching an unhealthy amount of Game of Thrones.

Our living room has a simple futon, a tv stand and tv, two side tables, my guitar, and our vinyl wall. Tylar is a trooper and let's me keep all of my fur decorations, because I will admit, ya girl is a bit obsessed. Our apartment looks like the Stark's Castle.

It still has a ways to go, considering we need a coffee table and a few more decorations on the other wall so it's not as empty, but it's already feeling homey. Beside the couch is our IKEA closet. It looks like it's just a big mirror, but behind the sliding doors is a ton of room for each of us.

On the other side of this closet is our "bedroom". The closet serves as a divider between the rooms, but it's purpose is actually to cover it up. The bed is a murphy's bed, so when it's up, the closet can move against the wall to open up the entire other side of the apartment. We kept it pretty simple. The bedspread is from Tj Maxx and it's supposed to look like the surface of the moon. The light fixture is something I made myself. All you do is hang up a curtain rod with sheer curtains and nail up waterfall lights behind it. You can make it at a pretty affordable price if you buy everything from Amazon!

Last but not least, we have our record player in this little corner. The stand is an old plant stand from my grandma's basement that we spray painted rose gold. They sell stands exactly like this on Urban Outfitters for $100+, but this only costed us the price of the spray paint. We're not sure what to do with this space yet, but we'll figure it out soon enough. It may just end up as a reading corner!

If you have any questions about my apartment, where I got everything, or my inspiration for decorating just comment below! I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas as well.

Thanks for reading!

Peace, Love, Jordan. xoxo
