Just Jams Vol. 1: My Favorite Song

Music is a huge part of my life. I taught myself how to play guitar when I was in elementary school and have been playing ever since. I get a lot of my daily inspiration and motivation by the songs that I listen to. This category will be where I share with you all the songs that speak to me-- whether it be about an event that happened to me that day, in the past, or if it's just a new jab I've been vibing to.

To start out, I figured I would share with you all my favorite song of all time by my favorite artist of all time. I'm sure many of you have heard it before, and won't mind hearing it again.

John Mayer has been that musician for me. I've seen him in concert six times so far, but by the end of the summer it will have been eight. My first concert of his was when I was in eighth grade and I went with my best friend at the time. It changed my life. If you haven't seen him perform before, I suggest buying a ticket to the venue he'll be visiting closest to you and going. He truly is an artist of unmeasurable talent, which is hard to find in A-List performers these days.

This song has gotten me through a lot in my life-- not because of the lyrics, but because of the way the music can slow my heartbeat and calm my anxiety... because of the way it can make me feel happy even when that emotion may seem so far away.

Enjoy.
